About the California Preservation Program
1. The California Preservation Program History and Plan In 1992 a task force was formed by the California State Library to examine the results of a statewide needs assessment survey and design a preservation program for California to meet preservation training, education and assistance needs. See the California Preservation Program for the full 1995 planning document. For current goals of the CPP, see Goals.
2. About CPP Governance The California Preservation Program is guided by the CPP Steering Committee, which, since 1999, has received LSTA funding to build a website, offer training in disaster preparedness and response, and provide assistance in conducting preservation needs assessment surveys and program planning. For current CPP services, click here.
3. California Preservation Networks Libraries are forming cooperative emergency networks though out the State. The California Preservation & Disaster Networks is a list of established networks; if your area does not already have a preservation network and you would like to help start one, contact Julie Page at info@CalPreservation.org.
