Library Network Service Program:
Conservation and Preservation

1. Statewide network services should include the establishment and operation of a Preservation Information Center.

2. The statewide network program should include partial support for a preservation grant program.

3. The Regional Library Networks should provide a forum for cooperative, collaborative preservation activities integrated with other network service programs.

4. The network program should support research and evaluation in new and emerging technologies for conservation and preservation.

5. Existing resources, where available, should be used to begin to implement the program now.
