This
presentation describes a silverfish infestation in the Meyer Library at
Stanford University, in Summer 2000. While it refers to a specific library,
the content is applicable to any number of buildings housing cultural
materials, whether library, archive, historical society, historic house, etc.
The presentation was given by Maria Grandinette, Head, Conservation
Treatment, Stanford University Libraries and Information Resources, to a
meeting of the Technical Services Department; it has been modified very
slightly, by Walter Henry, for presentation here (principally removing
references to SUL/AIR specific facilities, to make it easier for others to
use this presentation as the basis for their own talks.
